What is the Globally Harmonised System?
Conceived by the United Nations in 1992, the Globally Harmonised System (GHS) is an internationally-recognised system for identifying hazardous chemicals and substances. The GHS is implemented through the CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) Regulations for Chemicals (mixtures and substances) in the UK and CLP Regulation 1272/2008 in the EU.
