Flammable Signs

These flammable signs can be used to identify flammable materials and other fire hazards. Our 'Flammable' signs should be placed directly on flammable items and alongside any potential ignition points or fuel sources as part of a larger fire safety management plan.

All our fire warning signs (including those for compressed and explosive gases) are compliant with ISO EN 7010 and the Safety Signs and Signals Regulations 1996.

If these aren't the fire safety signs that you're looking for, try our Emergency Access & Fire Safety department. Alternatively, get in touch with us at Label Source for further assistance.

We supply fire warning signs for a wide variety of hazards. Choose from the following products:

What Are Flammable Signs?

Flammable signs are a type of hazard warning sign that indicate if a substance is likely to set on fire if exposed to particular conditions, or a kind of ignition. Many different materials are flammable, from common day-to-day objects like paper and wood to more niche, dangerous substances such as oils and spirits.

It’s important to identify any flammable substances and materials in your home and workplace, and store them safely in accordance with their associated risks.

Where Should Flammable Signs be Located?

Any flammable substance should have a flammable warning label attached to it. The flammable symbol typically appears as a yellow triangle with a black pictogram of a flame inside it. This should be clearly pictured on the items’ individual labels, as well as being clearly signposted on any rooms that are used as storage for flammable materials.

Are you using the correct flammable signs?

There are many different types of fire risk, so it’s always best to use a safety sign that is specific to the hazard in question (rather than a generic 'Flammable' sign). We supply fire warning signs for the following combustible materials:

  • Flammable solids (furniture, packaging, wood, plastics, paper, card)
  • Flammable liquids (solvents, petrol, white spirits, methylated spirits, thinners, paint, varnish)
  • Flammable gases (acetylene, oxygen, refrigerants, aerosols)
  • LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas)
  • Explosive atmospheres

Are Flammable Signs Required by Law?

Flammable signs are required by law under the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) regulations act )1996, Control of Hazardous to Health regulations (COSHH) and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005 (RRFSO).

To minimise risk, employers are legally obligated to provide easily identifiable safety signage for both flammable items, and any location that contains flammable items.
